Hi all! I am Amber Hutfles, the new SSS Retention/Tutor Coordinator. I couldn’t be more excited to serve in this role and work with you! If I have not had the opportunity to meet you, please come by and say hello! I grew up in a neighboring community, graduated from Highland Community College, and transferred to Kansas State University to complete a degree in Hospitality Management, with anemphasis in Event Management, and a minor in Business Management. While I was a student at Kansas State University, I received the "Extraordinary Student Award." This award is given to students who have been successful in their academic pursuits while facing opposition or significant obstacles.
After graduating from Kansas State University, I began my professional career in Manhattan, KS. Most recently, I served as the Talent Strategies Coordinator for the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce. I have a passion for engaging and growing young people and community development. In 2022, I was awarded NextGen Under30 Kansas, a recognition program presented by the Kansas Department of Commerce honoring talented young adults in Kansas under the age of 30, for the contributions made in their communities.
I recently married Joel Hutfles and we decided to move back to the area to be closer to family. In my spare time, I volunteer on the Flint Hills Praise fest Board, stay active, and spend quality time with friends and family.
