Dr. Jennifer Schiller has been hired as the vice president for strategic initiatives at Highland Community College. Dr. Schiller will work closely with the president and faculty of HCC in the execution of the College’s next strategic plan. She will support high-level, mission-critical initiatives and programs like the implementation of the Ellucian Colleague product (HCC’s new student information system) and HCC’s next Title III grant application. She is eager to engage with the Scottie community and forward a mission that started with establishing the first college in Kansas over 165 years ago. Dr. Schiller’s focus at Highland will champion workforce development, economic prosperity and quality of life measures for those in the Midwest and beyond.

Dr. Schiller’s career has to date been spent driving high-impact programs across all levels of K-20 education. She has worked in tech-driven leadership and consulting positions at Anthology and Campus Labs in Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!), and in administrative, research and teaching positions at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her experience on both sides of corporate and university interests offers a unique perspective sure to inform her work as the new vice president for Strategic Initiatives at Highland Community College.

In addition to this extensive body of work, Dr. Schiller is mother to three children, all of whom are exploring and developing their passions in community college and state college settings.
