Mission Statement
The Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a student organization, which functions as a welcoming and safe environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and ally (LGBTQA+) students and staff. The group provides support, education and leadership to the Highland College community. The group meets bi-weekly and is open to any who wish to provide and/or receive support.
The mission of the Highland Community College GSA is to promote a tolerant, accepting, and safe environment for all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Our primary goal is to address critical issues for the LGBTQ+ community at Highland Community College, in the local community, and the world at large. We believe that the best methods for tackling these issues lie in our ability to nurture relationships between diverse groups and by empowering members to advocate and educate, thereby opening minds to new ideas, perspectives, and, ultimately, friendships.
