In a heartwarming display of generosity, Highland Community College Technical Center students came together for “Pinktober Day” Oct. 30, to raise over $400 for the Muscotah Cancer Support Group. The donation will help fund vital services for those affected by cancer, in our surrounding counties of Atchison, Brown, Doniphan and Jackson.

The support group plays an important role in providing emotional and practical support for those undergoing treatment, as well as for their families. Volunteers work to ensure that cancer patients have access to the resources they need, whether it’s a listening ear or help with day-to-day challenges.

“I am so happy we can come together to make a difference,” said Student Senate Advisor, Carrie Miller, who helped students organize the fundraising event. “It is a small way for us to show support for those in our local communities facing such difficult battles.”

The efforts of HCCTC Students highlight how small contributions can collectively make a significant impact in the lives of those facing cancer, offering them hope and strength during one of the toughest journeys anyone can face.
