The Scottie men had a strong showing on Saturday at Johnson County, finishing in third place as a team with 103 points. Colby Community College took the team championship with 17 points. Jonathan Burgess from Colby won the meet with a time of 26:08.8.
The Scotties were led by freshman Seth Parres (O’Fallon, MO) with an 11th place finish in 28:33.4. Sophomore Brett Simshauser (Cuba, MO) and freshman Miguel Hernandez (Del Valle, TX) ran a tight race, finishing in 20th and 23rd place respectively. Sophomore Tim Borger (Eudora) was the 27th place runner in 29:12.5 and sophomore Derek Wright (McLouth) rounded out the scoring for Highland with a 31st place finish.
