The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recognizes student athletes each year from its various member institutions with NJCAA Academic Student Athlete Awards to student athletes who have met the following requirements: completion of three semesters of coursework, forty-five semester hours of credits, and participation in at least one season of a sport’s program with a GPA of 3.6 or above.

In addition to the individual honors, Highland had teams that also achieved academic excellence.
Members of the Scottie women’s track team earned the top GPA team in their sport. Other sport teams at Highland that were recognized with a 3.0 GPA or higher were the women’s cross country team, women’s basketball team, and the women’s softball team.
