Approximately 6,580 students, advisors and guests participated in Business Professionals of America’s (BPA) 57th National Leadership Conference. Activities included general sessions with keynote speakers, business meetings, leadership workshops, contests, election of national officers, and tours of California’s sights and attractions! The highlight of the conference was the presentation of the awards to the winners of the national contests.

 

Highland Community College Technical Center’s instructor Carrie Miller students Korin Kimmi (Effingham), Ciera Bass (Atchison), Mary Gage (Hiawatha), Megan Larson (Effingham), Maleesa Giles (Atchison), Jeremiah Kelley (Atchison), Ryan Soph (Atchison) participated in the April 28-30, 2023 National Leadership Conference of Business Professionals of America in Anaheim, CA. Korin Kimmi, Jeremiah Kelley, Ciera Bass, and Mary Gage participated in the Administrative Support Team placing 1st. Giles and Larson participated in the Presentation Management Team received 8th. Korin Kimmi received 1st Fundamental Word Processing, 1st Basic Office Systems and Procedures; Ciera Bass received 2nd in Advanced Office Systems & Procedures, 2nd Interview Skills, and 9th Administrative Support Concepts – Open. Ryan Soph 6th Device Configuration and Troubleshooting - IT Specialist Device Configuration and Management, 7th Fundamentals of Web Design - IT Specialist HTML and CSS, 11th Digital Communication & Design Concepts - Open. Maleesa Giles 7th Interview Skills, and 10th Medical Terminology Concepts – Open. Mary Gage Intermediate Word Processing 6th. Jeremiah Kelley 10th Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications. Megan Larson 10th Interview Skills. Carrie Miller also received Honor Advisor for 15 years of service to BPA.
