Scottie Softball #8 in NJCAA Poll

The Highland Community College softball team is off to another great start to a season. Currently, the Scotties sit atop the KJCCC standings with a 13-1 record, and are 18-4 overall. The hot start was enough for the Scotties to move up to 8th in the latest national poll. As a team, they rank in the nation’s top five in several statistical categories both offensively and defensively.

The Scotties are 2nd in home runs, 4th in runs, 4th in runs batted in, 5th in sacrifice hits, 6th in stolen bases, and 4th in slugging percentage.  Individually, shortstop Kayley Pyles, a freshman from DeKalb, MO, is tied for the lead in the nation with 13 homeruns.  Emma Hill, a utility player from Rae, MO, is fourth in the nation with 26 stolen bases.
