Highland Softball to Conduct Skills Clinics

Two skills clinics to enhance both the defensive and offensive softball skills of area youth will be conducted soon by the Highland Community College softball coaching staff.  The newest member of Head Coach Heidi Jordan’s staff, Taylor Schlopy, will be introduced at these clinics.  Schlopy currently competes in National Professional Fastpitch with the Akron Racers who chose her with the second overall pick in the draft.  Schlopy played for the University of Georgia where she made numerous honorary teams, including First Team All American.

These skills clinics will be held on the weekend of February 21, with defensive skills on Saturday, February 21, and the offensive skills clinic on Sunday, February 22.   Each clinic is $40 or participants can register for both for $60.  The deadline to register for these clinics is February 13.

Check In for each clinic is from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and check out is at 3:00 p.m.   All participants need to bring their own equipment, including clean tennis shoes, and lunch.  The clinics will be held in the Walters Wellness Center on the west side of the Highland campus.

Registration can be done online at https://highlandcc.edu/pages/events_0 .  Forms are also available in the Wellness Center.  For more information, please contact Coach Jordan at:  hjordan@highlandcc.edu or 785-442-6070.
