The Highland Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international honorary society of two year colleges, is sponsoring Scream into the Night on Tuesday, October 28. Scream into the Night will be a Halloween-themed 5k scary fun run/walk that will help raise funds to support the Doniphan County Council on Aging Meals on Wheels program. This will be a scary fun run/walk as PTK students will be dressed up in costume to make the 5k a long, haunted route.
Participants will begin the night at the Walters Wellness Center on the Highland campus, where they will receive their commemorative t-shirt. Only pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt. Registration and/or t-shirt pick up begins at 6:00 pm followed by the fun and scary run/walk at 7:00 pm. As PTK co-sponsor Margy Heddens noted, “We are looking forward to this being a very fun event for all involved the night before Halloween!”
If you would like a t-shirt you need to pre-register and pay before October 7. Please make checks payable to Highland Community College and mail the check along with the registration form to HCC PTK, Attn: Margy Heddens, 606 W. Main, Highland, KS 66035.
At this time, sponsors of the Scream into the Night event include Blevins family, Collins Law Office, Fastenal, Highland Bank, Highland Rehabilitation Center, Two Timbers, and Wathena Rehabilitation Center.
