Kindermusik Adventures camps are being offered this summer at the Walters Wellness Center on the campus of Highland Community College. The camps are fast approaching, with classes being held on Tuesdays starting in June. Two different ones are being offered by instructor Sheila Hennigan: "Busy Days" for ages newborn-3 years and "Around the World" for ages 4-7. Registration forms for each camp are available on the Highland Web site at www.highlandcc.edu and clicking on Wellness Center under the Community tab. The registration deadline is Monday, May 27.
This is the 14th year of the "Kindermusik with Sheila" program. Her “Busy Days” camp for newborns to age 3 will take a make-believe trip to various places such as the doctor’s office, the store, a family gathering, a day at the water and the park through music, dance, and exploration of instruments. This camp is five classes on Tuesdays, June 4 to July 2, from 5:15 to 6:15 pm. Cost is $80 which includes tuition and at-home materials – hard cover, book, cd, cage bell, and family poster.
The “Around the World” camp for ages 4 to 7 will take an imaginary trip to Germany, Japan, Africa, England, and Mexico. Participants will learn about the various customs, languages, and traditions of each country through crafts, music, dance, and snacks. The five classes of this camp are also from June 4 to July 2; class time will be 2:00 3:00 pm. Cost is also $80 and includes tuition, cd, activity folders, maracas, monkey drum, and craft materials.
