The “History of Highland Community College” from 1837 to 1983 was captured in said book written and published by Arlyn John Parish in 1983. At the time, only 250 copies were printed, and they were not made readily available due to scarcity. With the approval of Donna Parish, Arlyn’s widow, and a gift from Roger Caudle ’60, we have 300 reprinted copies.
Donna said, “Arlyn Parish was a careful researcher who fact checked everything he wrote. Dying young at age 53, he would be thrilled that his book about the college that he loved so much is being reprinted. His wish also would have been that the book be updated.”
The book is available for purchase at Roger Caudle’s book store, Bargain Books and More in Atchison, and the HCC Book Store in Highland. Click to find it here: https://store.highlandcc.edu/hcc-history-book.
