At least a hundred fans of the Highland Community College softball team gathered in the parking lot of Hummer Sports Park in Topeka on Saturday to support the Scotties in the two preliminary games to the championship on Sunday. Softball team parents and grandparents and family members, softball alums, members of the Scottie baseball team, faculty, Board members, administrators, and HCC staff enjoyed the tailgating experience provided by the HCC Alumni Association – specifically Kelly Twombly and Vanetta Geiger – as they prepared for and then celebrated the Scottie victories.
