Highland BPA to Help Fight Breast Cancer

The Highland Community College chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) will be conducting a series of activities to raise awareness about and money for breast cancer.  October has become breast cancer awareness month, and the BPA activities will be taking place on October 16 at the HCC Technical Center at 1501 Riley in Atchison from 10:30 to noon.  Participants are encouraged to wear pink as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Day activities that begin with a breast cancer presentation in the Student Union by the College’s Medical Office Assistant students.  There will be a Breast Cancer Walk at 11:00 in Parking Lot A that will be followed by a Balloon Release at noon.  Participants are encouraged to purchase a balloon for $2 with proceeds going to the Missy Newell Memorial Fund in Hiawatha.  Those purchasing a balloon will be entered in a door prize drawing.  Information about the day’s activities can be obtained from instructor Carrie Miller at cmiller@highlandcc.edu or 913.367.6204.
