Early College Instructor Nominated for KS Teacher of the Year

Jeff Folger, HCC Early College instructor and Jackson Heights High School English Language Arts teacher, has been nominated for the Kansas Teacher of the Year award.

Folger said, “I am honored to be named Jackson Heights’ nominee for the Kansas Teacher of the Year award. It is a privilege to be able to represent both Jackson Heights and Highland Community College with this recognition. I appreciate the support of my administration, my students and my fellow faculty members, and I will endeavor to represent them well during the selection process this academic year.”

Currently, he teaches English Composition I, Composition II: Literature/Research, American Literature: Pre-Colonial Civil War and Public Speaking for HCC’s Early College (formerly known as concurrent) program. He’s taught for Highland since 2010.

HCC would like to congratulate Mr. Folger on this honor and wish him luck throughout the selection process. We’re proud to have him as a Scottie!
