The Highland Community College Professional Development Class taught by Linda James recently traveled to the Veterans Hospital in Leavenworth as part of the course requirement to participate in community service. The class members selected a service project of painting pumpkins with some of the patients at the hospital. They also had time to ask questions to one of the staff members about the financial operations.
The students who attended were Juan Weisel (Hiawatha), Kevin Sullivan (Muscotah), Dylan Collins (Silver Lake), Ashley Nevins (Roeland Park), Elizabeth Foster (St. Marys), Kimberly Pyle (Hiawatha), and Valerie Neibling (Highland).
