Highland Baseball Qualifies for Regional Play

Highland Community College baseball coach Rick Eberly is hopeful his troops can turn it around at they enter the 2015 NJCAA Central District Baseball Championship.  As the eighth seed in the Jayhawk East, the Scotties will be facing the one seed from the Jayhawk West.  Opening round matchups are a best of three series at the home site of the top four seeds.  Consequently, the Scotties will be traveling to Liberal on Saturday, May 2, to face the top-seeded Saints of Seward County Community College.  Game one will be at 1:00, game two will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one, and if the Scotties can take one of those, game three will be on Sunday, May 3, at 1:00.

The winners of the opening round will advance to the District Championship to be held at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita on May 8-12.  Streaming of the Scotties vs. the Saints on May 2 can be heard on http://www.ihigh.com/sewardcountysaints/.  This link will also be available on the Highland Web site by waiting for the baseball banner to appear at the top of the Home Page.
