Description

This full-time faculty position is located at the HCC Technical Center in Atchison, Kansas. The position begins on August 19, 2019.

The Practical Nursing Instructors are responsible for introducing students to the responsibilities, knowledge, techniques and skills that are necessary for the successful and safe practice of nursing and successful completion of Kansas State Board of Nursing licensure requirements. The instructor monitors and evaluates student progress through the program and serves as a role model for the students. As many of the duties involve supervising groups of students without benefit of additional help or administrative supervision, the job requires significant self-discipline, internal motivation, and sound judgment.

Primary Responsibilities include:

-Oversee safe and orderly classrooms;
-Teach assigned theory and clinical skills effectively using current sources (clinical sites vary with the majority in the regional service area 30 -60 miles from campus);
-Evaluate and revise course content and evaluation materials as needed;
-Maintain accurate student records of performance;
-Build/maintain good working relationships with cooperating clinical sites;
-Maintain nursing credentials in accordance with Kansas Nurse Practice Act;
-Assist with the nursing student organizations: Skills USA
