Student Activity Leadership Scholarship at HCC


Student Activity Leadership Scholarships in the amount equal to $1000 per semester at Highland Community College. Student Activity Leadership Scholarships are stackable with Academic Scholarships. Students must select and submit interest in an Academic Scholarship first, then choose a stackable Student Activity Leadership Scholarship.

Scholarship Criteria

Students on scholarship are required to follow the rules in the Student Handbook and requirements outlined below (as determined by the scholarship sponsor, per semester): 

  • Attend 80% of meetings/practices
    • The student must obtain scholarship sponsor/coach approval to miss a Highland Sponsored event
  • Engage in a minimum of four community events each semester
    • The scholarship sponsor has the right to require attendance at certain events. 
  • Assist in at least one HCC service/community outreach events per year. 
  • Hold a leadership role in
    • (a) a club/activity
    • (b) student government association, or
    • (c) academic offering as approved by a faculty member
  • Complete one co-curricular leadership badging credential as outlined by the scholarship sponsor each year.

Please Note: Submitting this interest form does not guarantee a scholarship offer. Scholarships at HCC are limited. If an offer is made, scholarships are valid if signed and returned within 30 days from the date of the offer. Scholarship forms received after the 30 days return date will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In addition, students must adhere to the requirements as stated on the scholarship letter (i.e. see criteria above).
