The College’s proud history of providing educational opportunities to the people of Northeast Kansas is inextricably linked to the community of Highland.  Throughout its proud history, the College owes its existence to the people of Highland who worked so hard and gave so much to keep it open in hard times. And there have been many hard times. These can be most appreciated by reading former sociology instructor Arlyn Parish’s book, History of Highland Community College (available in our library).
