The HCC Bookstore is located on the first floor of Irvin Hall. Rental texbooks, school supplies, college apparel, and college souvenirs are all available at the HCC Bookstore. UPS and USPS mailing services are available.
ShopTextbook Rentals and Returns
A service that saves HCC students several hundred dollars each year is the textbook rental program. HCC students do not pay high prices to buy their textbooks. For a rental fee of $20.00 per credit hour, textbooks are provided to HCC students. All students are required to pay this fee.
This rental fee does not include workbooks or supplements required by the instructors.Textbooks are distributed from the HCC Bookstore and must be returned at the completion of the semester or when dropping the course.
Any student who fails to return textbooks by the specified date or when dropping the course will be assessed the current replacement cost of the textbook(s).
Textbooks can be returned free of charge to the Highland Campus Bookstore or any regional location (Atchison or Baileyville). If you choose to mail your textbook, return postage costs are the responsibility of the student.
Online Fall 2025 Textbooks need to be returned in person by Friday, December 19 OR postmarked to 606 W Main Street Highland, Kansas 66035 by Monday, December 29.
A $20 late fee will be accessed for any textbooks postmarked from December 30 - January 2nd. After January 2nd, the replacement cost of the textbook will be added to your student account and the textbook is yours to keep.
PLEASE NOTE: All Campus locations and Bookstore will be closed: Monday, December 22nd through Friday, January 2 for Winter Break.
On Campus Fall 2025 Textbooks are due to the Highland Campus Bookstore in person by 4:30pm Friday, December 12.
A $20 late fee per book will be accessed for any textbooks received from December 13 - December 19. After December 20, the replacement cost of the textbook will be added to your student account and the textbook is yours to keep.
PLEASE NOTE: All Campus locations and Bookstore will be closed: Monday, December 22nd through Friday, January 2 for Winter Break.
Online Spring 2026 Textbooks need to be returned in person by Tuesday, May 12th OR postmarked to 606 W Main Street Highland, Kansas 66035 by Friday, May 15th.
A $20 late fee will be accessed for any textbooks postmarked from May 16th - May 24th. After May 24th, the replacement cost of the textbook will be added to your student account and the textbook is yours to keep.
PLEASE NOTE: All Campus locations and Bookstore will be closed: Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day.
On Campus Spring 2026 Textbooks are due to the Highland Campus Bookstore in person by 4:30pm Friday, May 8th.
A $20 late fee per book will be accessed for any textbooks received from May 9th - May 15th. After May 15th, the replacement cost of the textbook will be added to your student account and the textbook is yours to keep.
PLEASE NOTE: All Campus locations and Bookstore will be closed: Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day.

Additional Services:
- Mail Room - The HCC Mail Room is located within the Bookstore. Student mail boxes are located
in the hallway outside of the Housing/Student Life/Esports area in the LSU building.
All incoming mail is put in student mailboxes by approximately 1:00pm each day. Outgoing
mail can be mailed from the Bookstore and leaves once a day at 2:00pm.
- Students are required to have a student ID, as a security precaution, when picking up any incoming packages at the Bookstore.
- UPS services are also available at the Mail Room. Packages need to be secured with tape and have a proper shipping label including street address.
- Lost and Found - Items lost and found on the HCC campus are taken to the HCC Bookstore. Items may be claimed with appropriate identification.
