Student Clubs

Below are a list of clubs students can join. Clubs are available on the HCC Highland Campus, HCC Western Center (Baileyville), and HCC Technical Center (Atchison). 

  • Agriculture Club: Promotes agriculture and serves as a fraternal group on campus where agriculture students can exchange and share ideas about common interests, farming, and life. Activities include field trips to the Midwestern Farm Show, Garst Seed Company, Moorman Feed Company, and Fermenta Animal Health. Highlights include the Ag Olympics. Membership is open to any student enrolled at HCC.
  • Art Club: Composed of HCC art and photography students. This student-governed group plans events and field trips to enhance students' art education. Members raise money through selling artwork and ceramics to help fund museum trips to New York, Chicago, and Kansas City.
  • Athletic Training Club: Educates students about opportunities in athletic training and related careers. Students participate in fundraisers and meet monthly.
  • Business Professionals of America (BPA) – HCC Technical Center: Prepares students for the business workforce by building leadership, professionalism, and competency. Members help at the food pantry, fundraise, take trips, and compete at state and national levels.
  • Highland Players: The campus theatre club raises funds through performances to attend theatre festivals and events. Open to all HCC students interested in theatre.
  • Kansas National Education Association – Student Program (KNEA-SP): For students interested in teaching careers. Members help with activities in local schools, including tutoring, contests, athletics, and extracurriculars.
  • Phi Beta Lambda (PBL): Post-secondary division of FBLA-PBL. Develops business and leadership skills through conferences and workshops to prepare students for leadership roles.
  • Phi Theta Kappa (PTK): International honor society for two-year colleges. Membership requires a GPA of 3.5+ and at least 12 credit hours at HCC. Offers scholarships, leadership, service, and fellowship opportunities.
  • Skills USA - HCC Technical Center and HCC Western Center: Develops leadership and vocational skills through competitions at local, state, and national levels. Offers conferences, contests, and leadership opportunities.

  • Student Government Association (SGA): Acts as a student voice to administration. Offers mentoring, community service, campus event planning, and leadership development. Open to all HCC students.
  • Student Senate at HCC Technical Center: Two representatives from each department promote activities, communicate student viewpoints, and provide services to the college and community.

  • Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA): Provides a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQA students and allies. Offers support, education, and leadership. Meets bi-weekly and is open to all.
  • ​International Club The International Club brings students together on campus that live international and domestic, to foster a fellowship and provide a link between Highland students and the Northern Kansas Community. We promote international intercultural awareness through social and education activities.
