Music and Performing Arts Degree Information

Highland Community College main campus offers the following degrees for music:  

  • Vocal Music (Associate in Arts) - Vocal Music is a transfer program for students who plan to complete an associate in arts degree at HCC and then transfer to another institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. The program includes coursework, performance, and private instruction applied lessons. Employment opportunities exist in teaching, professional performance, audio production, arts administration, and music business.

Performance Ensembles

  • Lads and Lassies – Enroll in M 113/114 - This course is designed for both music majors and other students interested in performing with a show choir ensemble that features various styles of contemporary music along with choreography. The ensemble also travels within the college service area to perform. An audition is required to join this group. Please contact the HCC Music Faculty for more information on enrollment.  

  • HCC Chorus – Enroll in M 115/116 - This course is designed for both music majors and other students interested in performing with a stage chorus that features various styles of music in three mainstage concerts throughout the year.
