HCC application for admissions

Once your documents and deposit are received, HCC will issue your Form I-20, which you’ll use to schedule a visa interview at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. After receiving your visa, our staff will provide detailed arrival information and coordinate your airport pickup and orientation schedule.

New international students are required to attend International Orientation, held before the start of classes. This session covers campus resources, immigration compliance, health insurance, and cultural adjustment — helping you feel at home from day one.

Studying at HCC means being part of a community that celebrates diversity and connection. You’ll live and learn on a safe, welcoming campus surrounded by the scenic rolling hills of northeast Kansas.

Our international students enjoy on-campus housing, meal plans, student activities, and access to all academic and student support services, including tutoring, counseling, and advising. The International Office provides ongoing support with visa questions, employment authorization, and cultural programming throughout the year.

Highland Community College offers one of the most affordable options for international education in the U.S. Tuition and fees for international students are competitively priced, and your $2,000 deposit will be credited toward your first semester’s tuition and housing costs.

While international students are not eligible for U.S. federal financial aid, HCC provides flexible payment options and guidance on budgeting and managing expenses. Health insurance coverage is required for all international students and can be arranged through the college upon arrival.
