Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Enrollment Checklist

Students may not self-enroll in Allied Health courses, as all requirements must first be verified by HCC Regional Staff prior to enrollment. Once all required documentation has been received and verified, HCC Regional Staff will enroll the student in the appropriate course.

High school juniors and seniors are eligible for free tuition for Allied Health courses through the Excel in CTE program, beginning the summer after completion of their sophomore year. Students must be 18 by the end of the CMA course to take the state exam.

Complete the HCC Allied Health Enrollment Request Form. If you have questions, please contact alliedhealth@highlandcc.edu. High school students need to be a junior or senior to take Allied Health courses.

If you are new to HCC or have not attended HCC in the last 12 months, please complete
the HCC Online Application Form. When selecting program, choose: Technical/Stand Alone Par Prog/Nursing Aide

Admission to HCC’s technical programs is open to students who meet the following requirements:

  • Completion of the Online Application for Admission
  • Submission of official high school transcript or GED documentation

High school juniors and seniors are eligible for free tuition for Allied Health courses through the Excel in CTE program, beginning the summer after completion of their sophomore year.

Allied Health courses may be eligible for the Kansas Promise Act Scholarship.

Submit a copy of a Negative TB Skin Test or TB Blood Test (IGRA). TB Test results documented within 1 year prior to the beginning of the course will be accepted. TB Tests can be received at your local doctor’s office or health department. If a TB skin test is positive, a chest X-Ray will need to be completed by your doctor and submitted. Please email test results to alliedhealth@highlandcc.edu.

The first attempt of the Accuplacer Reading Test is free and takes approximately 25 minutes to complete. It can be taken at any HCC regional site, and a minimum score of 227 is required to pass. Additional attempts are allowed but will require a fee.
