ATCHISON, KANSAS – Anna Fowler, Director of Nursing at Highland Community College Technical Center (HCCTC), proudly announced that the LPN to RN Completion program's Class of 2024 achieved an impressive 93.1% first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
This achievement far surpasses the 80% first-time pass rate required for continued accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Kansas State Board of Nursing (KSBN). In comparison, the 2024 national first-time pass rate for associate degree nursing students, as reported by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), was 91.56%.
HCCTC’s nursing department emphasizes the importance of staying at the forefront of health care education by incorporating cutting-edge technology, hands-on training and real-world experiences to prepare students for the ever-evolving demands of the medical field.
“This year’s outstanding pass rate is a testament to the hard work, resilience and dedication of our students,” Fowler said. “It also reflects the unwavering commitment of our faculty and staff, who go above and beyond to support and guide them toward success.”
The exceptional performance of the Class of 2024 highlights HCCTC's continued commitment to excellence in nursing education, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to deliver quality care in their communities.
