Highland Community College Technical Center Students to Attend Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Orlando
Business Technology, Medical Assistant and Engineering Graphics and Technologies students from Highland Community College Technical Center (HCCTC) attended the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference Feb. 19-22, 2025 in Wichita. HCCTC Chapter members that attended were: Kaydeece Fultz (Effingham), Adeline Mcmanus (Effingham), Emma Ramirez (Atchison), Aiden Rathert (Troy), Teagan Sharp (Horton), Dane Spilman (Atchison), Charles Tilton (Atchison), Isaiah Woolston (Atchison) and Carrie Miller, Advisor/Business Technology Instructor.
Students tested their knowledge in many different business and technology related areas. Student placings include: Administrative Support team first (Fultz, Spilman, Tilton, Woolston); Banking and Finance first (Tilton) Contemporary Issues second (Rathert); Entrepreneurship first (Woolston); Fundamental Word Processing (Fultz); Fundamental Desktop Publishing first (Fultz); Health Insurance and Medical Billing first (Mcmanus); Health Administration Procedures first (Mcmanus); Health Research Presentation first (Rathert); Top Ten - Open Events: Financial Math and Analysis Concepts (Rathert and Woolston); Administrative Support Concepts (Rathert and Woolston); Computer Programming Concepts (Ramirez); Information Technology Concepts (Woolston); Digital Communication and Design Concepts (Fultz); Meeting and Event Planning Concepts (Mcmanus, Sharp, Rathert); Management, Marketing and Human Resources (Rameriz, Sharp, Tilton, Woolston); Digital Communication and Design Concepts (Ramirez); Project Management Concepts (Sharp); Health Administration Concepts (Mcmanus).
Students who placed in their events will travel to Orlando, Florida to attend BPA’s National Leadership Conference, “Capture the Moment” May 7-11, 2025. They will join an estimated 6,000 delegates from across the nation to participate in national level business and technology skills competitions.
