Highland, Kan. – The Highland Community College Alumni Association held its annual Marty Allen Golf Classic Friday, July 18. The event was a huge success because of the strong participation and generous community support from HCC alumni and friends of the College.
This year’s event welcomed 30 teams to the Atchison Golf Club at Bellevue, with 39-hole sponsors and more than 50 items donated for the silent auction. Nearly 20 alumni volunteers helped the day run smoothly, from organizing the tournament to assisting with auction activities. Great Western Dining generously provided food for participants, sponsors and volunteers throughout the day.
“This event is always such a special day for our alumni and friends of the College,” said Kelly Twombly, HCC Alumni Director. “We are incredibly grateful for the teams, sponsors, donors and volunteers who make it possible. Their generosity helps us provide scholarships, host alumni events and enhance athletics for current and future Scotties.”
The Marty Allen Golf Classic has become a highly anticipated tradition for Scottie alumni, bringing together friends, former classmates and community members. The HCC Alumni Association would like to say a big thank you to those who attended the event to support HCC. It was a great day of golf, camaraderie and fundraising in honor of Coach Marty Allen’s legacy.
Mark your calendars to attend next year’s event Friday, July 17, 2026. We hope to see you there!
