Fusion Performing Arts Series
Fusion Concert Series Set at HCC
Based on the success of previous performances by outside artists, Highland Community College officials are introducing a new concert series designed to share cultural arts with the community. Called Fusion to denote the blending of the College and its community, the series has five performances scheduled – three in the Fall semester and two in the Spring.
Following on the heels of the highly successful and memorable performance by international guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, guitarist Stephen Bennett will be the opening performer in the Fusion concert series on September 10. The St. Joseph Community Chorus will be performing gospel music on the Mary Helen Porter Stage of Culbertson Auditorium on October 30. Then, on November 29, the nationally popular country duo with deep local roots, Joey + Rory, will be returning home for A Farmhouse Christmas show. Tickets for these performances are $10 and are available by contacting Samantha Baker at 442-6026 or sbaker@highlandcc.edu.
Concerts in the Fusion series in the Spring semester will be guitarist Anthony Snape, who opened for the internationally renowned Tommy Emmanuel at HCC two years ago, and a harp/flute duo. Snape will be on the Porter Stage on March 1, and Tabitha Reist Steiner and Christina Webster will perform in the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Highland on April 10..
