Officers of the Highland Community College Alumni Association are finalizing plans for the upcoming Homecoming 2013 activities at the College. Homecoming 2013 will be Saturday, October 5, with activities centering on the Library and Kessinger Field. Alumni are encouraged to register at 9:00 am in the Library. Visiting and tours will be conducted until 11:00, when Kelly Twombly, Director of Alumni Services and members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors will be hosting the Golden Graduate honored class of 1963 and guests in the Library for a luncheon, followed by a short program. Twombly is still searching for some members of the 1963 class, so readers of this article are encouraged to contact her at ktwombly@highlandcc.edu or 785.442.6018 if you have knowledge about anyone included on the list below.
The classes of 1962 and ’64 are also encouraged to join the festivities as are alums from all years. Following the activities in the Library, the focus will shift to Kessinger Field where the Scotties will be hosting the Red Ravens from Coffeyville Community College. The Golden Grads will be acknowledged during pre-game activities, which are highlighted by the Braveheart re-enactment. There will be a reception for all Highland alums in the Barber Room of the Stadium Center during the game.
