Two Softball Scotties Honored Nationally

Two members of the Highland softball team have received national recognition for their outstanding performances last week. Megan Plouvier (Shawnee) and Zuzana Kudernatschova (Czech Republic) both received KJCCC Player of the Week and NJCAA National Player of the Week honors.

Plouvier, a freshman, went 19-22 at the plate with two doubles, two homeruns and 11 RBI’s. Megan is the first position player to ever receive national POW honors for the Scottie softball program.  Like Plouvier, Kudernatschova is the first pitcher to receive national POW honors for Highland. In last week’s action Zuzana recorded 5 wins while striking out 42 batters in her 22 innings of work and allowing only one earned run. Currently she ranks as the number one pitcher in the NJCAA DII with an ERA of .402 and a record of 25-5.
