Kansas Historical Society Awards Kansas Digital Access to History Grant to Highland Community College Librarypublished June 17, 2019
The Highland Community College Library was recently awarded the Kansas Digital Access to Historic Records (KDAHR) grant by the Kansas State Historical Records Advisory Board (KSHRAB) for completing the regrant project, “Digitization of Highland History.”
“This grant lets us preserve the rich history of Highland Community College and Highland, Kansas,” said Cindy Davis, director of the HCC Library and grant coordinator.
“We are pleased to be the keeper of that knowledge and thank the KSHRAB for helping us with the goal of making it digital and searchable for generations to come.”
The KSHRAB seeks to encourage Kansas organizations to create, preserve, and use records with enduring value. KSHRAB strives to ensure the ongoing availability of records with enduring value so current and future audiences can understand democracy, history, and culture.
Using funds granted from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the KSHRAB established the Kansas Digital Access to Historical Records (KDAHR) Regrant Program to enhance online access to historical records and to increase digital literacy and citizen engagement with those historical records.
The KSHRAB offers grants to Kansas historical records repositories that demonstrate a financial and programmatic need and a commitment to developing and/or implementing projects that will enhance online access to historical records.
