Highland Community College pitcher Zuzana Kudernatschova has been named the 2012 KJCCC Verizon Wireless Division II Softball Player of the Week for her performance over a three game stretch where she did not allow a run in three straight shutouts. The Scotties picked up three non-conference victories as Kudernatschova struck out 35 batters, while walking seven, and allowed only seven hits in 20 innings pitched. She was also responsible for the game-winning RBI in a pitchers’ duel 1-0 win over Western Nebraska. Kudernatschova, a sophomore from Prague in the Czech Republic, was a key part of the Scotties’ run to the national tournament last year and is off to a strong start in the 2012 season.
