Highland Wamego Center Holds Writing Contest

The Highland Community College Wamego Center held its first Student Writing Contest during November. English instructor Rebekah Allen expressed her appreciation to the staff, judges, and alumni/student judges who helped make the event a success.  Allen divided the Contest into sections of writing:  poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and projects completed in English Composition.

Awards went to:

Poetry -- Arie-Martin Stenek (St Marys), First Place

Poetry – Sarah Gaynor (St Marys), Second Place

Poetry – Gabriel Querubin (St Marys), Third Place

 

Fiction – Emilee Clemons (Clay Center), First Place

Fiction – Jeremy Tryon (Robinson), Second Place

Non-Fiction – Isaac Dailey (St Marys, First Place

 

English Comp 1 Projects – Avery DeWolf (Manhattan), First Place

English Comp 1 Projects – Isaac Dailey (St Marys), Second Place

English Comp 1 Projects – Rebecca Wahl (Wamego), Third Place Tie

English Comp 1 Projects – Natalie Peterman (Manhattan), Third Place Tie
