The seven sophomore volleyball players at Highland Community College graduated this past Friday with their Associate degrees. McKayla Brezina (Seneca), Ashley Dishon (Horton), Courtney Galley (Olathe), Veronica Pitchford (Manhattan), Rachel Schmanke (Oskaloosa), Monique Sutton (Omaha, NE), and Miranda Wilson (Auburn) earned their Associate in Arts degrees.
Ashley Dishon graduated on the President’s List with a 4.0 gpa. Dishon and Rachel Schmanke were selected as Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges and members of Phi Theta Kappa the national honorary society for two-year colleges.
All of the sophomores plan on continuing their education. Brezina, Dishon, Pitchford, and Sutton will continue their volleyball careers as they will play at Bethel College next fall. Wilson will run track at Fort Hays State University. Galley and Schmanke will continue their education at Kansas State University and Washburn University.
