The Highland Community College Board of Trustees selected Carl Tharman of rural Troy to fill the vacant position on the Board that resulted from the resignation of former Board member Russell Karn. Tharman was selected from a pool of three Doniphan County residents who completed the application materials for the position. All three were interviewed by the Board, and Tharman was unanimously selected during the Board’s September meeting.
Tharman is an HCC alumnus, as are three of his children. A longtime resident of Doniphan County, Tharman is a loan officer at Union State Bank in Everest and also farms. He will begin his tenure with the Board at the October meeting.
