Highland to Conduct Wine Sensory Workshop
The Viticulture and Enology instructors at Highland Community College will be hosting a Wine Sensory Workshop (wine tasting) at the Klinefelter Barn Conference Center on Thursday April 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This Workshop will include discussion of how the human palate senses aroma, taste, and feel. There will be a quick exercise in aroma identification, and then the workshop will conclude by tasting a variety of wines. The Wine Sensory Workshop will be a learning experience for both the novice wine drinker and those with more experience in the world of wine.
The cost of the Workshop is $20 in advance and $25 at the door; cash, check, or credit cards accepted by contacting Megan Massey in the Highland Business Office, 442-6006 or email@example.com. The fee for the Workshop goes toward purchasing wine for the tasting at the end of the Workshop. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about your current ability to enjoy a variety of wines and how to develop an even greater appreciation for the varieties that are available to you. The Highland instructors used their experience to grow the grapes and make the wine that won Best of Show at last year’s Kansas Grape Growers and Winemakers Association annual meeting.
Space is limited for this Workshop, so interested members of the public are urged to sign up early. The instructors want to remind everyone that each attendee must be at least 21 years of age, and each attendee must have some form of verification of their age. Yes, that even means you. Information about this Wine Sensory Workshop can be obtained from Scott Kohl at firstname.lastname@example.org or 785.456.6006.
