On January 19th, all 32 Kansas public higher education institutions came together to hold the first ever unified Higher Education Day at the Statehouse in Topeka.
The goal of the event was to showcase the strength of the higher education system to the Kansas legislature, demonstrating how each institution has its own unique focus and mission. Kansas universities and colleges located throughout the state are an important part of their communities and a significant driver for the state’s economy.
The day began with a breakfast hosted by the Kansas Board of Regents, who were in attendance along with university and college leadership. Higher ed booths were located on the first through fourth floors of the Capital, showcasing each institution. The day ended with an ice cream social hosted by K-State, Mascots from throughout the higher ed system were in attendance for fun photo opportunities.
