Highland Men Run at Haskell

 

The Highland Community College men’s cross country team competed on Saturday morning in Lawrence at the Haskell Indian Nations University Invitational.

The Scottie men finished the meet as the sixth place team with 160 points. The University of St. Marys won the team title with 41 points. Unattached runner Matt Pohren won the meet with a time of 24:47.88.

For the first time this season, sophomore Brett Simshauser (Cuba, MO) led the Scotties with a 29th place finish in 27:24.06. Freshman Seth Parres (O’Fallon, MO) ran a strong race, finishing in 37th place with a time of 28:01.00. Sophomores Tim Borger (Eudora) and Derek Wright (McLouth) finished in 48th and 51st places respectively. Sophomore Keith Edmonds (Easton) rounded out the team scorers for Highland with a 65th place finish in 29:15.06.

The Scotties next travel to Johnson County Community College on Saturday, October 13. The meet begins at 10:00 a.m.
