Highland Hires Position Replacements

The new calendar year brought additional position replacements at Highland Community College as head football coach Aaron Arnold filled two positions of assistants who resigned with one new face and another with a former HCC coach.  In addition, the College was able to fill the Financial Aid Director position with an experienced candidate.

Walter Vaughn will be returning to the College after serving as a graduate assistant at the DI level at Colorado State.  He previously served as the Scottie defensive line coach in 2014-15.  He has also coached at Eastern Kentucky University and Alcovy (GA) High School.  Maurice Gray comes to Coach Arnold’s staff after serving with former Scottie head coach Ryan Held at Northeast Oklahoma A&M.  Coach Held moved on to the DI level, leaving Gray available to join the Scotties.  Gray played for Held at Butler prior to getting his bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma State.  He has also coached at Coffeyville and Butler, so he is very familiar with the Jayhawk Conference.

Joshua North will be joining the College on February 1 as the new Director of Financial Aid.  He comes to Highland after serving as the Financial Aid Specialist at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City.  Prior experience includes time at State Street Financial Corporation, Missouri Western, and Citibank Student Loans.  A native of Orrick, MO, North holds two bachelor’s degrees from Missouri Western – one in French and one in Economics.  He has also completed study at Universite’ d’ Angers in France.
