Head Coach Ryan Held put the Highland Community College football team through a controlled scrimmage for their Spring Game on April 30. Held and his staff are preparing the Scotties for their second year of building the Scottie Nation for competition in the nationally recognized Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. Under Held’s scrimmage scoring format, the Scottie defense defeated the offense by a score of 58-56. Held noted that “Spring practice was hampered by the weather this year, but we are pleased to see the progress being made. The players and staff are really looking forward to getting started in the Fall.” The Scotties kick off the 2013 season against Jayhawk Conference opponent Fort Scott on August 24.
