Led by members of the volleyball team which had ten selections, the Highland Community College athletic teams that participate in the fall semester placed 19 student athletes on the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) 2012 All-Academic Team. To qualify for selection on the KJCCC All-Academic Team, the student athlete must achieve at least a 3.5 semester grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
The ten volleyball team members were Ashley Dishon (Horton), Christa Hill (Holton), Jessica Hobbs (Wamego), Whitlea Klaus (Troy), Christine Koepke (Overland Park), Lisa Malchow (Highland), Veronica Pitchford (Manhattan), Erica Rottinghaus (Seneca), Rachel Schmanke (Oskaloosa), Kelsee Wright (Topeka).
Volleyball was followed by football and women’s cross country with four each. Football players were Jacob Burnett (Overland Park), Payton Doramus (Haysville), Buddy Lisk (Harveyville), and Dalton Marcotte (Eskridge). Women’s cross country runners were Crystal Hoard (Randolph), Kelsie Mars (Arkansas City), Hannah Olson (St. Joseph, MO), and Miranda Wilson (Auburn). The final selection was men’s cross country runner Seth Parres (O’Fallon, MO).
