Highland Alum to Coordinate 5K Run/Walk in Honor of Son

A Celebrating Chance Edward 5KRun/Walk will be conducted on Saturday, June 29, beginning at 8:00 am from the Walters Wellness Center on the campus of Highland Community College.  This Run/Walk is being conducted as a celebration of the short life of Chance Edward Miller, son of HCC alumni TJ (Simpson) and Jerred Miller.  All proceeds for the Run/Walk, which is being coordinated by TJ, will go to benefit Alexandra's House, a Perinatal Hospice Support – Expected Losses facility.  This is an excellent opportunity to get out and be active regardless of age or ability.  There will be no race winners or losers, just participants coming together for a great cause.

Interested participants are encouraged to register by 6:00 pm on Friday, June 21, with the $30 registration fee, which includes receipt of a Run/Walk t-shirt that will be distributed on Friday, June 27 from 5:00-9:00 pm at the Walters Wellness Center.  Those registering after June 21 are not guaranteed a t-shirt. There is online registration available at ezregister.com and Search Events at the bottom of the Featured Events column on the right side of the page.  Participants can send the application to TJ, Angie Eberly in the Wellness Center, or drop the completed form off at Walters Wellness Center desk.  Questions and requests for additional information can be directed to TJ at 785.741.4569.
