HCC to Host College Planning Conference

Every year, thousands of Kansas high school students face one of the most important decisions in their lives--where to continue their education. It's a choice that will have a lasting effect on their future lives--everything from how much they will earn to where they will live can be affected by the education they choose. With dozens of postsecondary options to choose from, that decision can be overwhelming, even with the help of counselors and parents.

To help make that decision easier, the Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) sponsors a series of college planning conferences for high school and transfer students. One of those events will be hosted by Highland Community College on October 15 from 9:30 – 10:30 am in the Walters Wellness Center on the HCC campus. HCC Admissions Representative Vanetta Geiger is coordinating the event and can be contacted at vgeiger@highlandcc.edu or785-442-6051.

This event will give prospective students the opportunity to gather information about public and private colleges, universities, and technical schools in Kansas and the region. Representatives will be available from each institution to answer questions about academic programs, financial assistance opportunities, student life, and athletics.

KACRAO is a voluntary and non-profit professional educational association, affiliated with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).  KACRAO contributes to the advancement of higher education to its fullest and broadest aspects by promoting the professional development of its members and the use of high standards of professional ethics. KACRAO also fosters a spirit of unity, cooperation, and an exchange of ideas through meetings, workshops, and publications; and fosters relationships with AACRAO and other professional associations whose objectives and purposes are consistent with those of the Association.
