published February 11, 2022Congrats to the First Recipient of the Jolie McDaniel Memorial Scholarship

The Highland Community College Western Center, the HCC Foundation, and family of Jolie McDaniel are pleased to announce the first ever recipient of the Jolie McDaniel Memorial Scholarship. Ashlyn Garber, Sabetha, KS, is currently finishing her Medical Assistant certificate program at the Western Center and pursuing her Associate degree.

Jolie McDaniel was one of the four original employees of the Highland Community College Western Center, and her family is proud to continue in her memory through support of the students at the Western Center in Baileyville. Jolie passionately believed in the power of what a technical education could provide students, and the benefits of the small class sizes of the Western Center.
