The artwork of artists Tori Christgen and Dana Rudolph will be on display in the Yost Art Gallery on the campus of Highland Community College from February 28 to April 10th. The Yost Art Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.
Christgen’s current work explores the role traditional woman’s work and craft plays in the life of a contemporary woman. With hand sewing and cutting, she transforms old white bed sheets into fabric canopies which interact and play with light to transform the gallery into an ethereal space.
Rudolph’s current work explores ideas of nostalgia, grief, loss, and anxiety. She creates images that contain information from her past, souvenirs of memory and personal history. The memory spaces that are created are composites of truth and fiction, of time and space, and of past and present.
Dana Rudolph is an artist and designer based in northwest Missouri. She received a BFA in graphic design from Missouri Western State University and an MFA in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art.
