Coach Tom Bond enters his 34th year of coaching, the 20th year at Highland, and eighth year as Head Women’s Cross Country & Track Coach.  Bond’s first four years have been extremely productive with 63 All Conference performers, 54 NJCAA National Qualifiers, 20 NJCAA National Medalists, and 3 NJCAA Athletic All Americans. His athletes have set 23 new school records over the past 4 years, and have finished in the top twenty 4 times at national championship events. He also directed the Scottie marathon team to two 11th place finishes.  His athletes have done very well academically as well, with ten being named NJCAA Academic All Americans, and 17  named to the Coaches Association Academic All Americans.  For his efforts, Coach Bond was voted the NJCAA VI Co-Coach of the year for Indoor Track & Field in 2011. 

Before taking the reins of the Scottie program Tom was a long time assistant coach for Highland. While on staff, he helped develop several national qualifiers and three conference championship teams. Coach Bond also served HCC as an assistant and head women's basketball coach for three seasons.

Coach Bond came to Highland after a very successful career at the high school level. His teams at Troy High School produced numerous state qualifiers, medalists as well as one state championship and many top 10 finishes.

Tom received his A.A. from Wentworth Military Academy where he was a standout track athlete and was part of the record setting 4 x 800 relay team. Coach Bond also attended Kansas State University and graduated from Missouri Western State University with a B.S. in History and a minor in Athletic Coaching.

Bond resides in Troy, KS with his wife Becky and enjoys spending time with their children Jane, Peter, Chris and their grandchildren Emma, Eli, Grace, and Porter.
