Orientation Videos and Assignments

On Campus

When you enroll in College Success and Orientation in the Fall semester you will most likely have your advisor as your instructor. During Orientation Day at the beginning of the semester, you will learn about academic policies, financial aid, the library, and your MyHCC Web page and HCC e-mail account. Your weekly classes then will cover topics such as note-taking, test-taking, study skills, creation of a two-year plan, career decision making, and transferring to a 4-year institution. Students who have taken a similar course elsewhere and students transferring more than 30 hours to HCC are not required to take the course. This course is offered each semester.

Off Campus

This course is an orientation to the world of college.  The course will include preparation of an academic plan to obtain an associate degree in a selected major. The course will also cover curriculum structure, program design, college success skills, transferring to a four-year institution, decision making, and career planning.
