Student Support Services hosted their annual Etiquette and Networking Dinner March 26, at the Country Cabin in Hiawatha. During this event, students were able to learn the basics of etiquette and how to conduct themselves in a formal environment thanks to speaker and 1978 HCC alumna, Vanetta Blevins Geiger. Attendees were also able to network with a professional in a field related to their career interests and/or degree, which we know will be a huge advantage to these students in the future.
We are grateful for the 22 students who were able to attend the event. HCC SSS would like to say a special “thank you” to President Deborah Fox, Vice President Randy Willy and all of the professionals* who attended. We also want to thank HCC Alumni Phil Roberts ’98 and Sara Roberts ’12, owners of the Country Cabin, for allowing us to host this event there.
The students had a wonderful time, and we know it meant a lot to them to have this opportunity. We are looking forward to this event again next year!
*Professionals not mentioned above who attended include Corey Kostman, Grain Belt Insurance; Kyle Olson, Thrivent Financial; Justin Fluke, KNZA; Cheryl Rasmussen, retired HCC Vice President of Student Services and former high school principal, Brandon Geiger ’05, Geiger Ag; and Blair Geiger, Home Grown & Co.
