Northeast Kansas Community Run/Walk Club
The Northeast Kansas Community Run/Walk Club has been organized as a free activity to promote health and fitness for any age. The Run/Walk Club will be training for the Northeast Kansas Community Fun Run/walk 5k race in Highland on June 21 and other races through Thanksgiving.
The club will be following a Walk to Run program that is perfect for any fitness level. The running group will meet twice a week starting Sunday, April 13, in Highland at 5:00 pm and in White Cloud on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm. During run times, a Kids Fit Camp (KFC) will be available for children aged three and up (children must be potty trained). During Kids Fit Camp children will play active games to promote a healthy lifestyle and fun. KFC is only available to Run/Walk Club members. Those interested in participating in the KFC must attend the informational meeting or contact Crystal Tracy before the first Run/Walk Club meeting.
The informational meeting will be held Thursday, April 10, at 6:00 pm at: the Walters Wellness Center on the Highland Community College campus.
